Chinese visual artist, born in 1983, he lives and has been working in France since 2010.

He was born in an eponymous village, Fan, of Hebei province in China. Nearby there are rare exotic woods, and historical monuments.He doesn't leavenever tit of this original relationship with wood.He obtained, in 2014, a diploma as a painter from HebeiNormal University (China). He continued his artistic training in France,at the Dunkirk School of Fine Arts, including he will graduate in 2016.It is in 2017, at within the artistic residence Le Lavoir, which here connects with the wood. For 3 years, he will learn many techniques of his fellow wood turners and carpenters third party.The careful observation of fragments of solid wood found, of various species, of which he is a seasoned urban hunter, is the starting point of the creative process of Fan Hongchuan.
